“Moon Splitting is The Truth: Almighty Allah Is The Best Planner”, So He was Successfully Preserving the Evidence of Moon Splitting from Past 1400 years.
  • In Salaalah, Oman - The Grave of King Cheraman Perumal who witness the Splitting of Moon in India & later traveled to Mecca and Embrace Islam in the hands of Prophet Muhammad Pbuh and when returning home, at the direction of the Prophet, died at the port of Zafar, Yemen, (Salaalah Oman) where the tomb of the Indian king was piously visited for many centuries.
  •   First  Juma Mosque was constructed at Kodungallur, Kerala India in 627 A.D
  • In Kasaragod, Karnataka, India - The Grave of  Malik bin Dinar, the Sahabi or Companion of Muhammad Pbuh, Who had came to India after the death of King Cheraman, with letter an which was written by the king Cheraman before his death and build First Juma Mosque at Kodungallur, Kerala India and Later Died & Buried at Kasaragod, Karnataka, India
  • People of Mecca Who Witness and denied the Splitting of Moon by Muhammad Pbuh, Later Embrace Islam without any force.
If we would carefully examine all these events happened around and after the time of Splitting of Moon, which are mention above, then we can understand that The Splitting of Moon is the Truth.
No One can deny Such Proof or Evidence Because Almighty Allah [God] is The Best Planner.

Brother and Sister think yourselves, whether it is Impossible for the Creator of Heaven and Earth to do such a Miracles

Prophet Muhammad Pbuh had Split of Moon into two halves by the ”Will of Almighty Allah”, Similarly by the ''Will of Almighty Allah'', Prophet Moses had Split the Red Sea & Saved the Children’s of Israel from torments of Pharaoh. Pharaoh’s body was found in the Red Sea, this proves that the story of Moses (peace be upon him) splitting the sea with the help of Allah Almighty really happened. Pharaoh’s body is 3500 years old, it’s amazing that it was preserved very well in the sea. Even some of the mummies are not preserved this well. Also fish in the sea could have easily eaten the flesh, but they didn’t. Why is that? The answer is in the following verse of the Quran where God says:

preserve your body, to set you up as a lesson for future generations. Unfortunately, many people are totally oblivious to our signs. Quran (10:90-92)

The Story of  Indian King  who had witness Splitting of Moon & Later Embrace Islam

Cheraman  Perumal, (Tajuddin. r.a)   king  of   india-Kodungallur, Kerala (AD 622-628. Hijra  1-7) was the first Indian to accept Islam. Many historians  have recorded this fact in their  writings. Kerala is a state of India.  The state stretches for 360 miles (580 kilometers) along the Malabar Coast on the southwestern side of the Indian peninsula.

King Chakrawati  Farmas of  Malabar was a Chera  king, Cheraman Perumal of  Kodungallure.  On a moon-lit  night  the  king  while walking on the rooftop of  his palace along with the queen saw the moon suddenly splitting into two halves. He is recorded to have seen the moon split. The incident is documented Hamidulla writes in "Muhammad Rasoolullah [Pbuh] in a manuscript kept at the India Office Library, London, reference number: Arabic, 2807, 152-173 A group of Muslim merchants passing by Malabar on their way to China spoke to the king about how God had supported the Arabian prophet with the miracle of splitting of the moon.  The shocked king said he had seen it with his own eyes as well, deputized his son, and left for Arabia to meet the Prophet in person.  He embraced Islam at the hand of the Prophet [Pbuh]  and when returning home, at the direction of the Prophet, died at the port of Zafar, Yemen,(salalah Oman) where the tomb of the Indian king was piously visited for many centuries.

The Holy Quran makes the following reference to the miracle of Holy Prophet -

“The Hour is nigh and the moon was cleft asunder”

Thus it is clear that Cheraman Perumal was the first believer of India. However, there are differences of opinion among historians concerning the year in which it took place. (It is not in the scope of MeraWatan to sort out the chronological differences).

Perumal presents a gift to the Holy Prophet Muhammad [PBUH]

A tradition Hadith of the Holy Prophet has also been reported from one of the companions, Abu Saeed al Khudri, regarding the arrival of Cheraman Perumal:

“A king from India presented the Messenger of Allah with a bottle of pickle that had ginger in it. The Holy Prophet distributed it among his companions. I also received a piece to eat.” Hakim reports in ‘Al Musthadrak''

Advent of Islam

It is difficult to estimate the exact date when the Indo – Arab relations began. History has it that about 2200 years ago, Arabs used to visit Kerala to sell pepper, sandalwood, elephant horns. It is through Arabs, the Christianity and Judaism reached Kerala first. They had settled long before the arrival of Prophet. As Islam’s glory became established in Arabia, the relation was strengthened day by day. A group of Arabs arrive at Kerala

A group of Arabs set to visit Ceylon (present day Sri Lanka) According to Islamic History, the Foot Mark of Adam (AS)
In Sri Lank is the First Foot Mark of  Mankind on Earth, leaving a large hollow mark resembling a footprint. Both
Both the Peak and the Bridge are named after this legend.[whose details along with Pictures mention below].
On the way, they landed at Kerala.

[whose details along with video footage mention below]. On the way, they landed at Kerala.

Cheruman Perumal, who was the king of Kodungallur, sent his men to investigate the matter. Sheikh Sahirudhin Ibn Baqiudhin Al Madani, one among the team, replied, “We are Arabs, We are Muslims. We have landed here while on the way to Ceylon”. The king, who’d earlier heard of Islam, became more curious to hear directly from the inhabitants of Madina- the center of Islam. Sahirudhin replied positively to all the questions. The king was overjoyed to learn more about the new faith and converted to it on the spot.

Ahmed Zainudhin Makhdum has mentioned this in his world- renowned masterpiece, Thuhfathul Mujahideen. (Another historic text, Keralolpathi, reports that Perumal left for the pilgrimage at Makkah). Anyway the king kept his conversion a secret and asked the travelers to do the same. He presented many gifts to the travelers and while seeing them off, he told that he would be coming with them while they wee returning back to Arabia.

The king visited each part of his country and introduced many administrative changes whereby he divided each part of his country among his relatives. ‘One among his sons, who arrived late from his visit to Kashi, was left with the land of ‘Kozhi’ and ‘Chullikkad’ which later came to be known as Kozhikode. He was given the power to nominate the Grand Qazi of Kozhikode, give permission for the ships leaving for Makkah and to conduct the Mamanga festival. (refer Keralolpathi).

The journey

The king spent weeks in seclusion. In midst of his quiet life, he set out on  the  journey  along  with  the Arab travelers  who’d  promised  him earlier.  On the way, they  stopped  by  Koylandi  and  from  there to Dharmapatnam
where they halted for 3 days. Then they set out to Shehr Muqalla.  On  reaching  there, they  set  for  the Hajj  pilgrimage  and thereafter  returned to Malabar. He aspired  to  spread the  message  of  Islam. But died on his way back to India and was buried on the shore of the  Arabian Sea at Salaalah in the Sultanate of Oman.

It is said that he had earlier written letters to the local rulers of Malabar & sent it through his ministers along with Malik bin Dinar, a companion of  the Prophet. In the letters he  had  asked  them to "receive the bearers of the letters and treat them well and help them to construct mosques at Kodungallur  and  elsewhere".  The rulers  of  Kerala  honoured   the  letters  & permitted Malik Bin Dinar and his fellow Arab traders to build mosques in Kerala. The  mosque  built  in  629 A.D at  Kodungallur, known as Cheraman Malik Masjid,  still exists with its original  structure  and  is said to be the oldest mosque in the sub- continent.  It is named after  both Cheraman  Perumal & Malik bin Dinar.

The original structure, including the sanctum sanctorum, remains intact. However, there have been a few extensions in the past. Portion is its new front while the back with its Portion Sanctum Sanctorum, Mehrab, Mimbar (Pulpit), work on the roof of Wooden Mimbar and traditional lamp as well as the ancient Ceremonial Pond, Still is untouched.  After the construction of the mosque at Kodungallur, Malik bin Dinar moved towards Mangalore and died at Kasaragod, now in Karnataka, where rests in peace.

Interestingly, Cheraman Perumal and Malik bin Dinar are buried on two sides of the Arabian Sea, one at Salala in the Sultanate of  Oman and the other at Kasaragod in India . In other words, their graves are interlinked by the waters of  the sea. There exist 14 mosques of the same pattern and design from Kodungallur to Mangalore.

Perumal in Theyyum Songs

The Perumal story is sung in the Theyyum songs as follows:

‘Perumal who began his journey secretly handed over his Kovilakam (palace) to the Samudiri in Dharmapattanam. His companions were with him. The Prophet used to halt at Jeddah. Perumal went there and embraced Islam and adopted the name Tajudhin.’

The Arakkal records also shows that Perumal left for Makkah and changed his name to Tajudhin after embracing Islam

The practice of receiving Pan from a Muslim woman when the King Samudiri ascends throne and the saying ‘I shall guard the sword (kingship) until my uncle returns from Makkah’ continued until 1890s.

Two facts: Story Untold

Islam spread along the western coast, including Kerala, long before the Muslim invasion of North India.

Islam spread in Kerala either at the time of Prophet or just before his death.

Summarized from Kerala Muslims – History of freedom struggle by KM Bahaudhin

C.V. Kunhiraman

C.V. Kunhiraman describes the story of Cheraman Perumal in ‘Karthikodayam’ as follows:

Cheraman Perumal left for Makkah after embracing Islam. Before leaving, he divided his kingdom among his son-in-laws and relatives at the Thiruvanchikulam Temple (see pic). This happened 1400 years ago.

The Panthalam, Kottarakkara and Kollam dynasties came into being after this.Cheraman Perumal was not only  one of great king , but the first Indian to come into the fold of Islam. He was actually the person who gifted Islam and the first ever mosque to the Indian sub-continent.This happened much before the advents of Muhammad bin Qasim and Mahmood Ghaznavi. This shows that Islam didn’t come to India with the sword.
